MACÁ TOBIANO
The Hooded grebe or macá tobiano (Podiceps gallardoi) is an endemic, endangered bird found in the Santa Cruz province.

SHOREBIRDS
The estuary of Rio Gallegos City features large marshlands and muddy intertidal plains, used by several migratory shorebird species with priority in protection status in several countries along their migratory routes

The "Gallegos River Estuary" Environment Interpretation Center is a space that allows Rio Gallegos residents and visitors to go through an itinerary designed for them to learn and revalue the estuary as an ecosystem.
Visitors can choose from two tours, one aimed at the general public that is not specialized in environmental issues, and the other one at children.
The exhibition has several interactive modules that intend to promote physical participation, both of children and adults, which facilitates learning while making it more fun.
